But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace (Zech. 8:16, NLT).
But this is what you must do! When you are at a cross road in life, then you need to know what you must do in order
to get the result that you desire. At such a time, wrong decision is inimical, and can even cost you your life. This is why it is good for you to turn to the Lord and ask Him to show you the way He wants you to go. He knows what you must do to get the best result.
David was a man who knew this and made it a habit of his life to always ask the Lord what to do. When the Amalekites looted his camp, he did not just rush into battle to fight them. He asked the Lord for direction and God led him. The result, “and David recovered all.” Read 1 Samuel 30:1-18.
At another time, when king Saul was pursuing David, he asked the Lord whether or not the people of Keilah would
deliver him to Saul. God said yes and David escaped (1 Samuel 23:7-13). At another instance, David was to go
into battle against the Philistines. He asked the Lord what to do and God told him not to go yet. He said to him: “And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines”(2 Samuel 5:24).
The result? David did not move at the wrong time. He waited for the Lord to go ahead of him. “And he had decisive victory over the Philistines” (2 Samuel 5:24). At this time of your life you need to seek the Lord, to know what exactly you should do. Life is not a game of gamble. Those who press the right buttons are the winners. As you wait on the Lord, He will tell you exactly what to do. It is well with you.
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21).
