YOUR HOPE SHALL MANIFEST

You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed (Proverbs 23:18, NLT).

A lively hope stirs the heart of anyone to go on with courage and succeed in life. It is hope that makes life worth a living. Indeed, there is no person on earth without hope. It is when hope dims that people become discouraged, depressed, and many eventually end up defeated. It is good that you stir up yourself, and keep your hope alive. David did this again and again. He would speak to himself: “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God” (Psalm 42:11).

What hope do you have about your future? What expectation is in your heart that is yet to be fulfilled? Our text today is very clear on what God has in mind about you: your hope will not be disappointed (Prov. 28:23). Your expectation shall not be cut off. Your desire shall be fulfilled. It does not really matter what happened in your past, or what is presently happening in your life, if you will trust in the Lord with all your heart, He will certainly fulfil the desires
of your heart.

Finally, there is an ultimate hope that no man can do without: the hope of glory. There is another life after this life. Everyone will die some day. The Bible however makes it clear that rather than death being the end of existence, it is merely the beginning of a new life. This new life can be a life of shame and everlasting torment in hell, or a life of glory in heaven.

When Christ comes into your heart as your saviour and Lord, He brings into you the hope of glory, and this hope is never ashamed.

This is why Jesus died and rose again, to give you the living hope of everlasting life. Without Jesus in your heart, there is no hope of eternal glory. But with Jesus in your heart, your hope of glory is fully secure. Let Him in today, and enjoy an unending hope of everlasting glory.

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Col. 1:27).
