BLESSED IS SHE THAT BELIEVES

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1:45).

When a person believes the word of the Lord, his faith activates the fulfillment of that word in his life and the release of the blessing that the word promises. For example when the Bible says “with His stripes we are healed”, it stands sure forever. When faith keys into that word there is no sickness or disease that can stand. In our text today, the angel of God brought the word of the Lord to Mary that she was going to conceive and give birth to the Messiah. Though confused, because she was a virgin, yet she believed the word of the Lord. Her response of faith triggered the fulfillment of the word. This is how God wants it to be with His children.

He wants us to hear His word, believe and act on it. The Bible says “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). As the word of God ignites faith in our hearts, acting on that word of faith we have heard will release something extraordinary. Jesus Christ defines the law of faith. According to your faith, so be it unto you (Matthew 9:29). It is what you believe that you attract. This is why you should see to it that you feed your faith and make it strong. You can only function at the level of your faith. (Romans 12:6). What then do you need to do in order to make your faith to be very strong? First, make sure you feast on the word of God, daily. It is the food of faith. The more you feast on it, the stronger your faith becomes. Then, make sure you do not allow any sin in your life. It will hinder the operation of your faith. Finally, make sure you act on whatever word God gives you. This is the sure way to put your faith to work and get results. May you go from glory to glory in Jesus’ mighty name.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report (Hebrews 11:1-2).
Be merciful, as your Father also is merciful (Luke 6:36).
