REVELATION OF HIS NAME I

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou LORD, has not forsaken them that seek thee (Psalm 9:10).

There are many dimensions to the revelation of the name of the Lord. Wrapped up in the name of Jesus are the redemptive names by which He manifested Himself in the flesh. In the Old Testament, He revealed Himself in the following redemptive names.

Jehovah Jireh: The Lord our provider. He provides our needs according to His riches in glory. He eventually provided for our complete redemption from Satan as He shed His blood on the cross of Calvary. As your Jehovah Jireh, He is ready to meet all your needs as you call upon His name.
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the Mount of the LORD it shall be seen (Genesis 22:14).

Jehovah Nissi: The Lord our Captain, our Banner, our Victory. He is the one who fights our battles and gives us victory. He eventually defeated our enemy on the cross of Calvary and gave us absolute victory over the devil and his cohorts. Through the name of Jesus, you can enjoy absolute victory in all battles of life and be truly more than a conqueror.
And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi. For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation (Exodus 17:13, 15, 16). Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37 NKJV).

Jehovah Shalom: The Lord our Peace. By His redemptive work at Calvary, He purchased peace for us. You can now enjoy perfect peace in a world of turmoil. You do not need to come under the weight of depression, confusion. Jesus, your Jehovah Shalom is the Prince of Peace.
And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shall not die. Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:23-24).

Jehovah Tsidkenu: The Lord our Righteousness. There is none that is righteous except God, for all have “sinned and fallen short of the glory of God;” but Jesus revealing Himself as Jehovah Tsidkenu has made righteousness available for us. He did not commit a single sin, yet God made Him bear our sins and the awful judgement that we merited so that we may become God’s righteousness. Now in Him and through Him, righteousness is made available to those who believe and know His name. Through the name of Jesus, you can walk in complete freedom from sin and walk in righteousness all the days of your life.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (II Corin. 5:21 NKJV).
