HIS NAME IS JESUS

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins (Matt. 1:21).

Jesus Christ has given every believer in Him the power of attorney to act in His name, with the full authority of heaven backing them up. This is to say we are to stand in His place on the earth to do what He would have done, were He to be here in person to do it. We are His generation, we are His disciples. We are His ambassadors on the earth. We are to act with the full weight of the authority of His person and His name.

His name saves (Matt 1:21). This is what His name has done for us, and that is what it will do to others as we tell them the Good News in His name (Matt. 28:18-20).

His name heals. No matter the sickness or disease or infirmity; there is complete healing available in the name of Jesus when spoken in faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Mk. 16:15-20; Lk. 9:1-5; Acts 3:1-10).

It is in His name we pray and receive definite answers from heaven. He was very categorical in His promise on this. “Whatsoever ye shall ask the father in my name, he will give it you (Jn. 16:23b).

It is in His name we go into the nations of the world to preach the gospel to every creature. We are not afraid of any power or authority because “all authority (all power to rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Him” (Matt. 28:18 Ampl.).

Therefore there is no nation whose door can be shut against Him or against us; He is the Governor amongst the nations and we are His ambassadors on the face of the earth (Ps. 22:28; II Cor. 5:20).

It is in His name we baptise those who believe, admitting them into the community of the faith, forgiving their sins in His name and incorporating them into the body of Christ on earth, by the power of His Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19-20, Jn. 20:21-23).

It is in His name we cast demons and evil spirits out of those they trouble, because He is the authentic Lord and possessor of every soul (Ezek. 18:4). He has given us complete authority over every devil that torment people, instructing us to cast them out in His name, and to see that their victims are filled with His word and the power of the Holy Spirit so they would not be empty for any demon to ever inhabit again (Mk. 16:15-20; Acts 16:16-18).

It is in His name we exercise unlimited authority over all principalities, powers, thrones, dominions, authorities, institutions, rulers, establishments whether they be in heaven, on earth or under the earth. This is because God has given Him a name that is above every other name (Philp. 2:9-11).

Rejoice therefore, your Redeemer is not a local idol. He is the Lord of the entire universe and every knee must bow to Him according to the eternal counsel of God most high.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philp. 2:9-11).
