Then go quickly and tell His disciples: He is risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him. Now I have told you (Matthew 28:7, NIV).
Good news! Jesus Christ rose from the grave! He conquered sin. He conquered Satan. He conquered death and the grave. He is alive today. He is alive forever. All power, and authority and dominion are in His hands. This is what He said:
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18).
Our text of today was the word of the angel to the women that went to the tomb of Jesus on the morning He rose from the dead. While they were searching for him in the grave the angel ask them a question:
“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen” (Luke 24:6). The angel now told them to take the good news that Christ is alive to the rest of His disciples, with the revelation. He is going ahead of you (Matthew 28:7). What Joy was theirs! I am sure they couldn’t go fast
enough to deliver the glorious message. Just like the women of old, Jesus has given us a message to the world, to let them know He is alive to save them. For all who take this mandate of Christ seriously, He has gone ahead of you. And He is going with you, confirming the word with signs following.
And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following, Amen (Mark 16:20).
Therefore child of God, as you go today, be bold, be strong. The Lord God Almighty is with you. He will bless you in all your ways, and make you a great blessing. Peace be unto you.
Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace. For I am with thee and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city (Acts 18:9b-10).
