THERE IS AN OFFERING FOR SIN

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified (Hebrews 10:14).

Sin is a problem that everyone who comes to this earth has to confront. It starts from conception, to birth, and operates throughout the entire life. It will lead to certain death and fearful destruction except there is a wholehearted trust in the only sacrifice that is acceptable to God – Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.

The problem of sin has given birth to all the religious systems of the world. Religion is man’s attempt to deal with the problem of sin. And all religions of the world, no matter how respectable, are just “fig leaves” of Adam and Eve to cover man’s nakedness and shame – it is all futile, and at best ineffective.

Religion can never release anyone from the grip and power of sin (Gal. 2:16). But God did something. In fulfillment of His promise of mercy when sin started in man, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as the seed of the woman, to be the Lamb without blemish, the perfect offering for sin (Genesis 3:15; Hebrews 10:14). Jesus Christ came in obedience to His Father, died on the cross and offered His life blood as the sacrifice for sin.

God demonstrated that He accepted this sacrifice by raising Christ from the dead on the third day. From that time, anyone who believes in this sacrifice is “justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:39). With the offering of Jesus Christ on the cross, the power of sin was broken.

Anyone can believe in Christ and be free from sin and its dominion. “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” (Rom. 6:14). Today you can be free from sin. Today you can become holy unto God. Today every guilt, and fear, and shame, and condemnation associated with sin can be gone (Rom. 8:1). You can enter into the glorious liberty of the sons of God (Rom. 8:21). All you have to do is believe in God’s sacrifice for sin – Jesus Christ who died and rose again. Trust that blood of the everlasting covenant that He shed on the cross of Calvary to cleanse you, set you free and make you whole. This done, sin will lose its hold on your life forever.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
