But the LORD said to me, “Do not say ‘I am a child’. You must go to everyone I send you and say whatever I command you (Jeremiah 1:7).
Every believer needs to discover the secret of divine blessing, and it is this: do whatever God says to you. When you are wholeheartedly committed to:
- Doing whatever God says to do
- Going wherever God says to go
- Saying whatever God tells you to say.
God will rejoice to bless you greatly, and you will prosper beyond description in whatever you do. Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus struck the bull’s eye when she told those folks at the wedding of Cana of Galilee!. “Whatever He says to you, do it.” They did what Jesus said, and they got a miracle of a new and best wine. God will always turn your water into the best wine when you do what He says to do (John 2:11).
God, speaking through the mouth of Prophet Isaiah revealed this secret long ago when He said:
If you be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land… for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it (Is.1:19-20b).
In relating to the Lord, just make sure you are:
- Willing, and
- Obedient, and the good of the land is surely yours to eat.
This is the secret of abundance and prosperity. Shortly before the people of Israel entered the land of Canaan, Moses gave them the word of the Lord that would guide them as they took possession of the land and that word emphasized this same eternal principles of God in relating with His people.
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God (Deut. 28:1-2).
Jesus our Lord was the most successful man that ever walked the face of this earth. In His thirty three and a half years on the earth, and only three and a half years of ministry, He glorified God on the earth by finishing the work God gave Him to do.
How did He do it? By walking in complete obedience to God His Father. He was obedient, even to the point of death. Therefore God also highly exalted Him, gave Him a name that is above all name, and gave Him everlasting glory and honor (Phil.2:5-11). That is what happens when we walk in joyful obedience to God our Father.
What else? The matter is simple, yet absolutely profound: whatever He says to you, do it. That is the solution you have been searching for.
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures (Job 36:11).
